Welcome to wilmots litigation

Wilmots Litigation is the litigation arm of Wilmot & Co Solicitors LLP. The Litigation side is headed up by Michael Grenfell who is based in London and the South West. Also on the team are Phillip Sharpe, Michelle Vandekleut (A. Inst. L. Ex.) and Jayne Campion.

We have built up over the years an impressive reputation in dealing with all aspects of law relating to classic and historic cars and general aviation. Although not limited just to those matters, the bulk of our work is in those areas. The categories of work that we deal with are set out on our about us page in more detail.

We act for numerous auction houses, leading dealers and private individuals, both in the UK and overseas. We also advise clubs and trade associations and have been responsible for a number of important cases in the courts relating to classic and historic racing cars, including the landmark case of Brewer v Mann in 2012, the most important case for some 20 years.

We have built up an unrivalled network of contacts and clients as a result of over 30 years continuous practice in the field. All aspects of law, not just claims or disputes, are dealt with relating to classic, historic, racing, sports, veteran, vintage, antique, old timer and collectors cars, which are known collectively in the UK as classic cars.

In addition we undertake general commercial work including service agreements, shareholder agreement, general company matters and contracts.

The general aviation side, which includes acting both for and against airfield management, includes leasing agreements, accidents and CAA matters arising out of the regulation of airfield and the Air Navigation Order and planning matters.
