Phillip is a litigator with an emphasis on Commercial and Civil Litigation. He has worked on a number of high profile and multi-jurisdictional cases. He also has a focus on classic car litigation and acts for various aviation companies
Notable experience
Representing a defendant solicitor in Commercial Court proceedings involving allegations of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and economic loss; acting for the first defendant in Tajik Aluminium Plant v Mr Ermatov and others; obtaining a freezing injunction for a company against a former director; acting on behalf of a defendant in proceedings for breach of contract; obtained permission to bring contempt proceedings as part of a counterclaim totaling $20m relating to oil supply agreements; and acting for a finance director in relation to alleged misappropriation of funds.
Career
Phillip trained in-house with TfL and on secondment with Eversheds before moving to the highly regarded boutique litigation practice of Byrne and Partners LLP. Prior to joining Wilmot & Co in October 2011, Phillip was a senior lecturer at the College of Law in Guildford.
